Trustee promises 18 drawings by American sculptors to Phillips Collection

A Phillips Collection trustee has promised to give the Washington museum 18 drawings by 20th and 21st century American sculptors, officials announced Friday night at a party in New York City.Linda Lichtenberg Kaplan's collection of drawings includes works by Jae Ko, John Storrs, Jay DeFeo, Tony Smith and Louise Nevelson -- represents and exceptional gift that extends founder Duncan Phillips's legacy, said director Dorothy Kosinski, who announced the acquisition.
